Now, [C] many many years ago when [G] I was twenty three, I was married to a widow who was [C] pretty as could be. This widow had a grown-up daughter [F] had hair of red. My [D] father fell in love with her and [G] soon the two were wed<\/span><\/p>\n

This [C] made my dad my son-in-law, and [G] really changed my life. My daughter was my mother\u00a0 ’cause she [C] was my father’s wife. To complicate the matters, even [F] though it brought me joy, I [D] soon became the father of a [G] bouncing baby boy.<\/span><\/p>\n

My [C] little baby then became a [G] brother-in-law to dad, and so became my uncle, though it [C] made me very sad. For if he was my uncle, that [F] also made him the brother of the [D] widow’s grown-up daughter; who, of course, was my [G] step-mother.<\/span><\/p>\n

My [C] father’s wife then had a son that [G] kept them on the run; And he became my grandchild for he [C] was my daughter’s son. My wife is now my mother’s mother, and [F] it makes me blue, [D] because, she is my wife – She’s [G] my grandmother too<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, [C] if my wife is my grandmother, than [G] I am her grandchild. And every time I think of it, it [C] nearly drives me wild. For now I have become the strangest [F] case you ever saw: As [D] husband of my grandmother I [G] am my own grandpa.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nIt sounds [C] funny I know, but it [F] really is so:<\/span>
