[C<\/em>]<\/strong> When I was a [F<\/em>]<\/strong> little bitty boy [C<\/em>]<\/strong> just up off the [G7<\/em>]<\/strong> floor
\nWe [C<\/em>]<\/strong> used to go out to [F<\/em>]<\/strong> Grandma’s house
\n[C<\/em>]<\/strong> every month [G7<\/em>]<\/strong> end or [C<\/em>]<\/strong> so
\nWe\u2019d [C<\/em>]<\/strong> chicken pie and [F<\/em>]<\/strong> country ham,
\nAnd [C<\/em>]<\/strong> home made butter on the [G7<\/em>]<\/strong> bread
\nBut the [C<\/em>]<\/strong> best darn thing about [F<\/em>]<\/strong> Grandma’s house
\nWas her [G7<\/em>]<\/strong> great big feather [C<\/em>]<\/strong> bed<\/p>\n

It was [C<\/em>]<\/strong> nine feet high and six feet wide, [F<\/em>]<\/strong> soft as a downy [C<\/em>]<\/strong> chick
\n[C<\/em>]<\/strong> It was made from the feathers of forty ‘leven geese,
\nTook a [D7<\/em>]<\/strong> whole bolt of cloth for the [G7<\/em>]<\/strong> tick
\nIt’d [C<\/em>]<\/strong> hold eight kids ‘n’ four hound dogs and a [F<\/em>]<\/strong> piggy we stole from the [C<\/em>]<\/strong> shed
\n[C<\/em>]<\/strong> We didn’t get much sleep but we [F<\/em>]<\/strong> had a lot of fun on
\n[G7<\/em>]<\/strong> Grandma’s feather [C<\/em>]<\/strong> bed<\/p>\n

[C<\/em>]<\/strong> After supper we’d [F<\/em>]<\/strong> sit around the fire,

\n[C<\/em>]<\/strong> Pa would talk about the [F<\/em>]<\/strong> farm and the war,
\nand my [C<\/em>]<\/strong> Granny’d sing a [G7<\/em>]<\/strong> ballad or [C<\/em>]<\/strong> two
\nI’d [C<\/em>]<\/strong> sit and listen and [F<\/em>]<\/strong> watch the fire till the [C<\/em>]<\/strong> cobwebs filled my [G7<\/em>]<\/strong> head
\n[C<\/em>]<\/strong> Next thing I\u2019d know I\u2019d [F<\/em>]<\/strong> wake up in the mornin’
\nin the [G7<\/em>]<\/strong> middle of the old feather [C<\/em>]<\/strong> bed<\/p>\n
