In 1814 we took a little trip<\/span>
\n<\/span>Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty <\/span>Mississip<\/span>‘<\/span>
\n<\/span>We took a little <\/span>bacon<\/span> and we took a little beans<\/span>
\n<\/span>And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1<\/span> \u00a0 <\/span>We fired our guns and the British kept a-<\/span>comin<\/span>‘<\/span>
\n<\/span>There wasn’t <\/span>nigh <\/span>as many as there was a while ago<\/span>
\n<\/span>We fired once <\/span>more<\/span> and they began to <\/span>runnin<\/span>‘<\/span>
\n<\/span>On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We looked down a river and we <\/span>see’d<\/span> the British come<\/span>
\n<\/span>And there must have been a hundred of ‘<\/span>em<\/span> beatin<\/span>‘ on the drum<\/span>
\n<\/span>They stepped so <\/span>high<\/span> and they made their bugles ring<\/span>
\n<\/span>We stood behind our cotton bales and didn’t say a thing<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
