Guantanamera refers to the woman from Guant\u00e1namo, a municipality, and city in southeast Cuba. It is the <\/span>most known Patriotic Cuban song on the planet. The Composition sometimes accredited to Jos\u00e9 Fern\u00e1ndez Diaz,<\/span>known as Jose\u00edto Fern\u00e1ndez, who claimed to have written it at various dates; consensus puts 1929 as the year\r\n<\/span>of origin and who used it regularly in one of his radio programs. Some who? Claim that the song's structure <\/span>actually came from Herminio \"El Diablo\" Garc\u00eda Wilson, who could be credited as a co-composer. Garcia\u2019s <\/span>heirs took the matter to court decades later but lost the case. The Supreme Court of Cuba credited Fernandez <\/span>as the sole composer of the music in 1993. Regardless of either claim, Fernandez can safely be claimed as <\/span>being the first public promoter of the song, through his radio programs.
